“EDI and schemes like mudra will be linked for more benefit. Initially we will start with certificate or diplomacourses and after two years will introduce degree courses for skill development.”

Talking about the new education policy and the most awaited regularization policy for the contractual professors, he said that with the new education policy they want to change the teaching technology and the matter of contractual professors is sub-judice.

“Presently we are the two parties before the court and the department can’t surpass the court in any manner, let the court decide we will abide by whatever it decides.”

He said that once the court orders are issued only then they will furnish a policy and initiate a welfare process for all of them but there must be capacity building for them. “They must be given security of tenure but anyone appointed won’t be reappointed if there is no learning outcome after three years of engagement and it will be learnt that the professor has come to earn money only,” he said.

He said that all the professors will be reengaged on the basis of performance only and anything forward will be decided after the court decision and policy can also be expected after courts direction—(KNO)
