Anantnag, May 25: A 115-year-old visually impaired man cast his vote in the Manzmoo Dooru area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Saturday.

Speaking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Tenda said he came to vote for a candidate who genuinely represents the interests of his community in parliament.

“I came to vote after walking for around five kilometres on foot so that we can send the right candidate to the parliament who can truly raise the voice for our people,” he said.

Kaka said there is a pressing issue of unemployment among the youth in his area, many of whom are highly qualified yet struggle to find job opportunities. “Even in the upper areas, youth are well qualified, but the rising unemployment rate has made the lives of young people very difficult. There is a need to address this issue immediately,” he added.

The supercentenarian also highlighted the broader economic struggles faced by the people, including inflation and rising electricity tariffs. “People of J&K have been facing problems due to inflation and rising electricity tariffs. I have voted so that the winner can raise the voice and help in lowering the electricity bills,” he said, adding that choosing the right candidate could lead to improvements in addressing these issues.

“I believe that if people choose the right candidate, their issues can be resolved to a great extent,” Kaka Tenda added—(KNO)
