Shopian, Jul 01: Historic Mughal Road, connecting the Pir Panjal region with the Kashmir Valley, remains devoid of essential amenities causing great inconvenience to locals and tourists alike.

Talking to GNS, social activist Mohd Yaqoob Gutto said that despite efforts by the LG administration and district authorities to enhance connectivity, the historic thoroughfare still lacks fundamental facilities including washrooms, drinking water, network connectivity and medical facilities.

“Tourists flock to popular spots along the Mughal Road, including Peer ki Gali, Dubjan and Mughal Sarai, but leave disappointed due to the absence of basic amenities,” Gutto rued.

The locals and tourists gathered at different places along the historic road echoed the statement of the social activist, alleging that repeated appeals to the administration have gone unanswered thus far.
