Srinagar, Aug 10; Directorate of School Education Kashmir Saturday announced change in school timings across educational institutions in Valley.

The timing for schools falling within Srinagar Municipal limits will be from 9AM to 3PM while the educational institutes falling outside Municipal limits of Srinagar District and other areas of Kashmir Province shall remain open between 10AM to 4PM.

The freshly announced timings, as per the order, according to GNS, have a bearing on both government and recognised private schools in the Kashmir Division, with effect from August 12 (Monday).

It is pertinent to mention here that DSEK had on July 23, announced change in the class timings from 8AM to 1PM in both rural and urban areas of Kashmir region, due to hot weather conditions. Even as the Directorate announces fresh change in the timings, the temperatures more or less continue to prevail the same as witnessed towards the last quarter of last month – the ground the Directorate considered to effect the change then.
