Day 4: Bag containing grenade, magazine, cell phones recovered during Kawoosa search operation

Budgam, Sep 10: In the ongoing search operation that was launched on Monday in Kawoosa area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district after brief exchange of fire between militants and army, government forces Thursday recovered a bag carrying a grenade, cell phones and other stuff.

The search operation in the Kawoosa nallah continued on the fourth consecutive day on Thursday. After the exchange of fire on Monday evening, government forces had launched a massive search operation to track down the escaping militants.

Besides, soldiers from 2 RR, Police, CRPF 176 Battalion and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police, marine commandos were also called in to track down the militants. Government Forces believed that a couple of militants sustained bullet injuries and jumped into the nallah.

Marine commandos in boats were seen making rounds in the nallah.

Police sources told news agency KNT that a bag was recovered on Thursday during search operation. Sources said that the bag contained a Chinese grenade, fully loaded AK-47 magazine, a knife, 2 cell phones and a Pheran. (KNT)
