Jammu, Mar 19: National Conference (NC) Member Legislative Assembly Ali Mohammad Sagar on Wednesday urged BJP members in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly to press the Centre for holding talks with Pakistan, stating that dialogue is the only way to resolve issues.
Speaking in the Assembly during a discussion on the grants announced by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Sagar, as per news agency JKNS, said that the NC has always advocated dialogue for peace.
“Nothing is possible without dialogue. You mentioned that former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee held talks with Pakistan. Prime Minister Modi visited Pakistan. We always say this is the only way to resolve issues,” Sagar said.
Taking a dig at the BJP, Sagar added that the NC follows Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology, not Nathuram Godse’s. He appealed to the BJP MLAs to carry this suggestion to New Delhi. “Please go to Delhi and tell them to hold talks with Pakistan. God willing, our issue will be resolved,” he said. (JKNS)
