Srinagar, May 4: A heart-touching story unfolded at the Hajj House in Srinagar on Sunday as the long-cherished dream of a 75-year-old Srinagar man to perform Hajj came true after 45 years—thanks to an outpouring of public support triggered by a viral video.

The elderly man, namely Abdul Rehman from Srinagar, who has been visiting the Hajj House every year for the past 45 years just to see off pilgrims and seek their prayers, was interviewed by multiple media outlets while covering the departure of the first batch of Hajj pilgrims from Srinagar as per news agency JKNS.

Speaking emotionally to reporters as per JKNS he said, “For 45 years, I’ve been coming here to see off pilgrims and request them to pray for me. I have no one, I am alone. Every time, I ask Allah to grant me this wish.”

The video quickly went viral across social media platforms, prompting a flood of responses from people across the Valley and beyond. As per reports, a doctor from Kupwara was among the first to call one of the media channels, expressing his wish to sponsor the Srinagar man’s Hajj pilgrimage.

“I saw his video and couldn’t stop my tears. I will help him fulfill this dream, complete his documentation, and arrange everything,” said Dr Jan Mushtaq Khan from Kupwara while speaking to the channel.

The emotional twist of fate unfolded within hours. The same man who had arrived early in the morning to bid farewell to departing pilgrims suddenly learned that his 45-year-long prayer was finally answered.

Locals and media personnel present at the Hajj House described the moment as deeply moving. “In just two hours, a dream that waited 45 years was fulfilled. It’s nothing but divine mercy,” said one of the bystanders.

The man, overcome with emotion, thanked the doctor and all those who came forward to support him. “May Allah grant Hajj to every dreamer. Today, I am no longer alone,” he said while holding back tears.

The doctor added, “My brother, Ab Majeed Khan, sent me the video and asked for details. I contacted the media persons who had recorded the interview and asked them to verify the case. After they confirmed it through local masjid committees, I decided to help him reach Kaaba without a second thought.” (JKNS)
