While talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Meesaqun Nabi said that I got inspired from the art work of my father and it was patience and continued practice that I managed to learn this art work myself and on demand I have completed a few calligraphy orders recently. “It is nowadays a trend to express themselves artistically on social media platforms, I too started to post my work and there where people have been continuously requesting me to make custom artworks for them and I have taken some limited orders,” she said.

“I have completed many customized papier machine works with inscribed names in calligraphy. My numerous works on the Quran especially on Surah Fateha has been most interesting and one of my favorite work,” she beamed.

The most challenging work for the young artist so far has been the art of calligraphy inscribed on paper machie. “The calligraphy is very much challenging as there is no space for an error as a wrong stroke with a brush can spoil a full art piece,” the 21-year-old artist told KNO.

“I got inspired from art work of my father, she said, adding that after my father’s death I tried to explore his art through his works and after that I pledged that I will not let his art die with him,” she said. “I have maintained my timetable in such a way that my art work is not affecting my studies any way. I will continue my art work along with my studies as it gives me satisfaction.”

She said her message to the aspiring calligraphy artists is that they must be very patient and explore the treasure of trove that this art holds. “My message for the youth in general will be to come forward with whatsoever talent they have, for self-satisfaction,” she said, adding her request to the parents will be that they should also support their wards to nourish their talent no matter what field they choose so that everyone can contribute their bit for the welfare of society—(KNO)
