According to news agency KINS, various organizing committees had decided not to take out Milad processions in view of COVID-19 pandemic. However, highlighting the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad ‘Milad Mehfils’ and online ‘Seerat Conferences’ were held in various areas of the Union territory.
Special functions were held in Kashmir at various shrines and Masjids, said an official. However, he informed that devotees were appealed to follow COVID19 safety guidelines strictly and spend less time at shrines and Masjids to avoid violation of coronavirus guidelines.

The biggest congregation was held at Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar where devotees in large numbers offered special prayers and have glimpses of the holy relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

In South Kashmir, thousands of people offer prayers at Masjids and Shrines mainly at Jamia Masjid Reshi Sahab, Khiram Sirhama, Kaba Marg, Dooru and Seer Hamdan while in north Kashmir Milad procession was taken out at various places.
