134 labourers, 13 expecting mothers among new cases, Active cases over 6500 in J&K

Srinagar, July 21: The number of COVID-19 positive cases in J&K Tuesday crossed 15000 mark as 608 new cases including 134 labourers, 13 expecting mothers catched the deadly virus in the Union Territory.
With 608 new cases, the tally of positive cases in J&K has reached to 15258 including 12125 from Kashmir and 3133 from Jammu.
Among 608 new cases, 502 belong to Kashmir division while as 106 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division has reached to 12125 including 6619 recoveries and 243 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 3133 including 1836 recoveries and 20 deaths.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6540 including 5263 from Kashmir division and 1277 from Jammu division.
With 181 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 8455 which is 55.41 percent of the total cases which was over 63 percent few days before.
Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 3298 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 3133.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 213 from Srinagar, 28 from Baramulla,39 from Kulgam, 03 from Shopian, 26 from Anantnag, 47 from Kupwara, 43 from Pulwama, 83 from Budgam, 14 from Bandipora and 06 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 106 from Jammu division include 15 from Jammu, 13 from Kuthua, 37 from Rajouri, 03 from Udhampur, 11 from Ramban, 10 from Samba, 07 from Doda, 02 from Poonch and 08 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Officials from SKIMS said that out of 1553 samples tested on Tuesday, 161 including 27 from different CRPF battalions, 3 from BB cantonment Srinagar and two from BSF Mader Bandipora were tested positive.
Officials from CD hospital said new positive cases include 13 pregnant ladies, 5 from defense personnel and one from Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB)
As per officials figures, 3283 positive cases including 69 deaths and 1253 recoveries are from Srinagar, 1651 including 55 deaths and 922 recoveries are from Baramulla, 1186 including 864 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Kulgam, 1168 including 19 deaths and 784 recoveries are from Shopian, 1097 including 18 deaths and 716 recoveries are from Anantnag, 965 including 588 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Kupwara, 1042 including 534 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Pulwama, 948 including 480 recoveries and 19 deaths are from Budgam, 478 including 352 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Bandipora and 307 including 126 recoveries and 04 death are from are from Ganderbal.
In Jammu division, 651 including 440 recoveries and 12 deaths are from Jammu district, 386 including 269 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 439 including 119 recoveries and 02 death are from Rajouri, 367 including 299 recoveries and 01 death is from Udhampur, 419 including 236 recoveries are from Ramban, 340 including 176 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 200 including 88 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 155 including 126 recoveries and 01 death is from Poonch and 90 including 29 recoveries are from Kishtwar and 86 including 45 recoveries are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 336,315 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 38,016 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6540 persons are in hospital isolation while 11 persons are under hospital quarantine.
According to the bulletin, 248,706 persons have completed surveillance period and 42,779 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 528,946 samples are available.
Out of 528,946 the number of samples tested negative stands at 513,688 while as 15,258 have been tested positive, among them 6540 are active and 8455 persons have recovered and 263 persons have died—(KNO)
