Budgam, July 23: Budgam family Thursday refuted the claims of police that three Over Ground workers of Jaish-Muhammad were arrested from Chadoora saying one among them is their son who was picked up by police on July 13 during night when he was sleeping in his room.

Pertinently, a statement attributed police went viral on social media yesterday in which police stated that it arrested three over ground workers of militant outfit from Chadoora area of Budgam. The arrested youth were identified as Javaid Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Pulwama, Ajaz Wani of Chitragam and Aqib Ganai of Khansaib.

The family and villagers of Ajaz Wani staged a protest in Budgam vouching for his innocence. Sarpanch of the village while talking to Reporters said that Ajaz was arrested by police on 13 July and since then he was in police locke-up.

“We met SHO Chadoora who also vouched for his innocence then we went to meet SSP Budgam who assured us that Ajaz will be released within two days. Yesterday, a news spread on social media claiming that three Jaish workers have been arrested and among them Ajaz was the one. This is baseless. He is innocent and we appeal to IGP Kashmir to do justice with the family. Whole village knows Ajaz is innocent,” Sarpanch said.
