Closure of markets within municipal limits in Bandipora extended for 48 hours

Bandipora, July 25: Authorities on Saturday extended the closure of markets for another 48 hours within municipal limits of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district as a precautionary measure after a sudden spike in COVID-19 cases.

In an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Owais Ahmad (IAS) said that the closure of markets has been extended for another 48 hours with effect from July 26.

“In view of the review undertaken of the overall situation arisen due to surge in COVID-19 Positive Cases, especially involving service providers and as a precautionary measure for safety and wellbeing of the general public, and instructions contained in this office order No: DCB/PS/2020/3814-25 Dated: 22.07.2020 are hereby extended for another 48 hours, w.e.f. 26.07.2020,” reads the order.

The order further stated that the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bandipora, shall get the order implemented in letter and spirit. 

“Any violation of this order shall invite punitive action under Section 188 IPC, & other relevant provisions of Epidemic Disease Act, 1897, and the Disaster Management Act, 2005,” it stated—(KNO)
