Kupwara, July 26: Three persons were arrested along with arms and ammunition and durgs at Sadhana Pass in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday.

Police sources told news agency KNT that soldiers from 7 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operation Group personnel arrested three persons during a naka and recovered arms and ammunition and brown sugar from them.

Sources added that two vehicles in which these three persons were travelling have also been seized. These vehicles were on way to Kupwara from Tanghdar.

“We recovered an AK-47 rifle, 10 packets of Brown sugar, 2 pistols and 20 grenades from them,” said an official.

The trio has been identified as Ameer Amin Shiekh son of Muhammad Amin of Hajibar Tangdhar, Bashir Ahmad Shiekh son of Ghulam Ahmad and Faizan Bashir Shiekh, both residents of Bhatpora Tangdhar. (KNT)
