Man dies in scuffle over land dispute, police arrest brother and his 4 family members

Pattan, July 27: An elderly man died during a scuffle in Nihalpora village of Pattan town here in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police sources told news agency KNT that two brothers had a land dispute that triggered a scuffle during which an elderly man died after he was allegedly hit by a rod.

The deceased has been identified as 62 year old Bashir Ahmed Itoo son of Abdul Rahim.

A police official told news agency KNT that there was scuffle between two brothers on a land dispute during which one brother died.

“We have detained the brother of the deceased and his four family members including two minors. An FIR vide number 191/2020 under section 302 has been registered and investigation set into motion,” the police official said. (KNT)
