Day 02, Kreeri Encounter: Third militant killed, searches on

Forces blast hideout where militant was hiding

Srinagar, August 18: Third militant has been killed in an ongoing operation in Kreeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.

Offcial sources told GNS that after resuming operation this morning, one more militant has been killed.

They said the slain militant is likely to be non-local and was hiding inside a Hideout which was blasted by using IED.

Meanwhile searches are still underway in the area till this report was being filed.

Pertinently, yesterday 06 persons were killed including 02 CRPF troopers, 01 JK cop, 01 Army solidier and two local LeT militants in the gunfight.

Director General of police Dilbagh Singh yesterday during a press conference said that Top LeT Commander Sajad Haider from Sopore was among the two slain militants. Who as per DGP was instrumental in recruiting new militants and was mastermind behind many attacks on security forces and political activists.(GNS)
