Srinagar, Aug 21: In absence of a permanent Managing Director, Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board has been running headless since June 30. The headless Board has become a source of sufferings for the employees and contractors who on a daily basis are registering their protest demanding redressal of their multiple grievances.
The previous Managing Director Arvind Kotwal attained superannuation on 30 June this year and since then Housing Board is headless and currently there is none who could manage the affairs.
“Employees are without salaries while the payments to the contractors are not given. Whenever we approach MD office, they show helplessness in absence of any MD,” said a group of contractors to news agency KNT.
Some employees said that in absence of an MD, various administrative and executive functions don’t go smoothly.
They appealed government to appoint any MD for the Board so that there should be in time redressal of the grievances. (KNT)
