Ramban, August 27: A beekeeper from Tral area has accused that he has suffered losses close to three million rupees after Ramban police did not allow his truck to move towards Rajasthan loaded with honey bees. Noor Mohammad Bhat, a native of Kamla Buchoo Tral was ferrying the beehives to Rajasthan as part of an annual exercise to a warmer location as the autumn season is nearing with drop in temperatures.

While talking to CNS, Noor Mohammad said, “Some four days ago dozens of my wooden beehives containing thousands of precious honey bees laden in a truck was heading towards Rajasthan, However, on reaching Ramban, police did not allow the truck to move further resulting in death to the honey bees due to suffocation and lack of oxygen.”

He added saying, “The government of India’s direction are clear that this kind of transport vehicle should be allowed everywhere freely since it contains the livestock.

But the anarchy by Ramban police has caused me losses worth lakhs with no one to be held accountable for the same. The road was through when my truck was stopped unnecessarily by the police.”(CNS)
