Srinagar, Aug 27: Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Thursday has urged the JK bureaucracy not to prove hurdle in making best testing facilities available to the people in Jammu and Kashmir to prevent the spread of deadly coronavirus.

In a statement to KNT, Kadfeen said that the unreliable and far less accurate rapid antigen testing is making things worse in Jammu and Kashmir and is exposing people to severe health risks. He said that even when the medical fraternity at the forefront of this deadly pandemic is well aware of the repercussions of relying on unreliable antigen testing methods, the fraternity is unfortunately being coerced by the bureaucracy in Jammu and Kashmir to use this less accurate method as it is time saving and has instant results. “However, this is known world over that this method is not reliable at all and contains far less accuracy. RT-PCR test is recommended world over and it is ironic that the authorities in Jammu and Kashmir are giving damn to the latest guidelines of Indian Council of Medical Research (IMCR),” said Kadfeen.

He added that as per the reports, the health experts and medical fraternity have already appraised the government about how lethal would it prove to bank on antigen testing in entirety and that in order to save peoples’ lives RT-PCR is inevitable.

He added that there are fears that in order to save its face from embarrassing situation, government is making the things look normal on ground. Kadfeen said that the government has put into service least facilities to tackle the pandemic which include less number of COVID facilities and treatment infrastructure. “This is the reason that false picture is being shown to the outer world. If the situation continues to remain as it is today, the future is going to be apocalyptic in more ways than one,” said Kadfeen. (KNT)
