ACB raids SMC transport yard in Alochi Bagh, grills employees

Srinagar, Aug 29: Sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) raided that transport yard belonging to Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) in Alochi Bagh area of Srinagar city.

Sources told news agency KNT that a team of ACB conducted raid after receiving complaints about mismanagement in a scheme called ‘Individual Household Latrine’.

This scheme is meant for urban people who can avail toilet facility after filing an online application. The process involves the role of an NGO.

Sources said that ACB team also grilled a Junior Engineer of SMC and questioned his source of income. Sources added that ACB has information that the JE in question has amassed wealth through illegal means.

Insiders said the details will unfold after ACB team leaves the premises.

The raid and questioning was underway till the filing of this report. (KNT)
