Two shops sealed, four vehicles seized: Police
Ganderbal, Aug 31 : At least eight persons have been arrested while two shops were sealed and four vehicles were seized for violating the lockdown orders in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that “as it is observed, public throng unnecessarily to the markets and also not following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) in vogue, which led to surge in number of COVID-19 positive cases in district Ganderbal from recent days.”
They said as intimated earlier that Police will initiate stringent action against those found guilty of violating the lockdown orders, Ganderbal Police has acted tough from day one against the violators to ensure complete implementation of Sec 144 CrPC in view of continuous surge in number of COVID positive cases.
In this regard, police said that five FIRs were registered under numbers 55/20 under section 188 and 269 IPC at Police Station Gund, 182/20 under section 188, 269,270 IPC at Police Station Ganderbal, 183/20 under sections 188,269 IPC at Police Station Ganderbal, 184/20 under sections 188,269,270 IPC at Police Station Ganderbal, 185/20 under sections 188,269,353 IPC Police Station Ganderbal.
Police said two shops were sealed, four vehicles were seized and eight persons have been arrested under these FIRs for violating government restrictions orders.
In order to eradicate and to prevent the further spread of deadly virus, Ganderbal Police yet again appealed people to support the administration by way of observing the lockdown and not to venture out of houses unnecessarily for the sake of all otherwise contravention will abide strict action under law.
