“I issued an income certificate to the sister of Ashiq Hussain, mentioning that her father is a pensioner, one brother works in the police department while another is in the army. This irked Ashiq Hussain who wanted me to fudge the facts. When I refused, he first abused me then tried to hit my head with an iron rod. I resisted but my leg sustained injuries and I received two stitches,” Pathwari Wagay told news agency KNT.

Devsar Tehsil Pathwari Association took strong note of the incident and registered a complaint against the assailant at police station Devsar. Police immediately arrested the assailant and registered an FIR vide number 89/2020 against him.

The assailant works in the police department and is posted in Pulwama.

A police officer confirmed the arrest of the assailant under relevant sections.

Meanwhile, Pathwari Association Devser Sajad Ahmad Parray and Naib Tehsildar Devsar Farooq Ahmad have demanded stringent punishment for the accused. (KNT)
