Pulwama encounter: Firing stopped after brief exchange of firing

Searches continue in the area

Srinagar, September 13: A brief exchange of firing took place between militants and security forces in Parigam area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama on Sunday.

A senior police officer told GNS that a brief exchange of firing took place between forces and militants in orchards of Parigam, however the searches are still underway in the area.

Earlier, According to the reports reaching GNS, a joint team of Police, Army’s 50 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Parigam.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.(GNS)
