Success story from SKAUST-K: Research scholar from Sgr attracts people with her art skills

Srinagar, Sep 16: Keeping herpassion and hobby alive, a research scholar from Srinagar’s downtown area is being commended for her art skills and now is getting offers from the people regarding designs for logos and other things.

Azra Khan from Khanyar area of Srinagar, who is pursuing PhD degree from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST-K) while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that despite busy schedule, she spent some moments with her passion that is art work.

“This art is my hobby and passion. As people spent time in reading, writing, travelling and many other things, I spent my time with art work besides poetry,” she said.

She said at University Ph.D Advisor Dr. Zahoor Ahmad Dar keep her encouraging and motivating about not just in her research but participating in various events of art organized by University or even outside University.

“I request people don’t mingle my professional work with my art work as it sometimes becomes discouraging for me,” she said, adding that she is trying to spend her spare time with art work and poetry as it gives her peace of mind.

“This work has never affected my academics. I love my profession as well as my passion and want to go ahead in both,” she said. “I want people to see my reflection in my art work. It gives me peace of mind and I am thankful to my parents who always supported me,” she added.

“My art work is being acknowledged as now I get offers from the people to make logos and other things,” she said adding that she is self thought and has written so many poems and wants to publish her book now but due to busy schedule she is unable to do so as of now.

“My message to the youth will be that don’t feel any profession or any work low but do constructive things in whatever you feel happiness and peace of mind,” she said, adding that hard work and patience is must in order to achieve any goal of life—(KNO)
