Srinagar widow accuses BJP leader of harassment

Srinagar, Sep 21: A widow and her two daughters Monday appealed authorities to save them from the wrath of a BJP leader who according to them harass the family on one or other pretext.


Naseema Bano wife of late Abdul Satar Dar, resident of Khar Mohalla Habba Kadal area of Srinagar city along with her two little daughters emerged in Press Enclave Srinagar and accused BJP District Secretary Srinagar Ishfaq Gilkar of harassment.

“We have been constructing house for us on our land that we purchased but Ishfaq Gilkar frequently raises objection. Every day, he humiliates us and uses his influence to stop us. When SMC has no objection, why this man is raising objection and is harassing us. We don’t have any male member in the family and we appeal authorities to look into the matter,” Naseema Bano said adding that Gilkar is misusing the power and name of the BJP which he is associated.

She said that Gilkar is demanding bribe from her which she can’t afford.
BJP Spokesperson Altaf Thakur said discilipinary action will be initiated against Gilkar if allegations prove correct. (KNT)
