Baramulla, Sep 23 :A 14-year-old boy drowned in river Jhelum while taking a bath in Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday afternoon.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the boy drowned while a taking a bath and his friends informed the passerby. “A few local youth jumped into the river to rescue the boy but couldn’t spot him,” the official said.
He said that police also reached to the spot and have launched a search operation to trace the boy.
The official identified him as Shahid Ahmad son of Late Noor Mohammad, a resident Khudalan locality of Nowshehra in Uri—(KNO)
