Srinagar, Nov 10: Dozens of Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) aspirants Tuesday couldn’t appear in the Panchayat Account Assistant examinations due to what they termed as confusion in the address of centres on admit cards.
The candidates informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that there was a confusion in the address given on the admit card and in its backdrop, they couldn’t reach the designated examination centres.
An aspirant said that she was preparing for the exam from last several months, but the confusion created by the authorities on admit cards wasted it all in a moment.
“I missed the exam because of the lackadaisical approach of the SSB authorities. They had not mentioned the exact location and address on our admit cards,” the candidate said.
She said, “After wandering from one area to another, when I finally reached the centre, the concerned officials at the examination centre didn’t allow me to appear in the examinations.”
In the meantime, JKSSB officials in a press release said that 1.90 lakh aspirants’ had applied for these posts out of which 1.62 lakh candidates appeared for the written test today.
“At least 750 examination centres were set up in all the districts Jammu and Kashmir with the maximum of 173 examination centres in district Jammu and minimum 07 examination centres in district Shopian.”
The officials also said that the written test was conducted smoothly, fairly and transparently with the active cooperation and support of district administration of all the districts including police, education, health, transport and other related departments. The private schools and colleges also extended their full cooperation in conduct of this examination—(KNO)
