Anantnag, Jan 12: District Administration Anantnag has ordered for installation of temporary toilet blocks along Srinagar-Jammu Highway to facilitate stranded persons within next 24-hours.
An order in this regard, of which a copy lies with GNS, reads that “For the convenience of stranded truckers/passengers, it is hereby ordered that Assistant Commissioner Development and District Panchayat Officer, Anantnag shall ensure construction/installation of temporary toilet blocks alongside the National Highway within 24 hours positively.”
“Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Tehsildar concerned to also provide access to stranded drivers to the toilet blocks of the educational institutions situated alongside the National Highway”, it reads.
“Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti Department, Qazigund shall ensure availability of water and Executive Officer, MC Anantnag and Qazigund shall ensure cleanliness of the toilet blocks twice a day”, the order reads further. (GNS)
