Starts hostel business to provide accommodation to students in Sgr
Shopian, Jan 19: A youth from South Kashmir’s Shopian district has emerged as a young entrepreneur-cum social, who is always on the forefront to help people.
Tabish Ishaq Mir, a resident of main town Shopian who is a BCA student at SSM College Srinagar has started his hostel business to provide accommodation to students in Srinagar.
Tabish, while talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that he was passionate since childhood to help others and after crossing class 12th, he joined some social welfare organizations to help the poor people.
He said: “few years ago, I started a business with name Home Fort Hostels’ to accommodate students of different areas of J&K, who come to Srinagar for coaching and other purposes. At present I am accommodating around 300 students annually.”
He said that besides providing free accommodation to few poor students, presently around a dozen youth are getting livelihood at the hostel who were engaged there for watch and ward purposes. “It’s my own hostel there which is famous for proper facilities for students,” he said.
Tabish is also a famous cricket player who has represented J&K at national level and other various stages besides that he has been organising various social awareness programs in his district and other places.
“I want to bring change in society and want to work against all social evils,” he said, adding that recently “a mega programme on women empowerment was held in Shopian.”
“I have been also organising awareness programmes, seminars to reform education system in J&K. I also host sports events to keep our young generation free from drug addiction and other futile exercises,” he said. Tabish urges the youth to come forward and work jointly for the betterment of “our society and we must take care of our downtrodden people.”—(KNO)
