Srinagar, Mar 12: Water supply to Srinagar’s downtown, Soura, Lal Bazar and other adjacent areas is likely to remain affected after a landslip occurred in a power canal at Nuner Ganderbal on Friday while the administration has pressed its men and machinery for repairing purposes.

Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), officials said that the water supply from Preng in Ganderbal has been curtailed following an occurrence of a landslip in a power canal in the district which is the main raw water source to entire water supply system of Rangil.

“This is to inform our residents that water supply from the Rangil treatment plant has been curtailed after the raw water supply from Preng in Ganderbal was reduced following an occurrence of a landslip in a power canal in the district,” district administration Srinagar tweeted.

In another tweet, the administration said that the water supply from the plant will remain affected until completion of ongoing restoration work in the affected canal.
