J&K Reports Highest Daily Covid-19 Tally Of 4926 Cases, 52 Deaths

Srinagar, May 6: Jammu and Kashmir reported 4926 fresh covid-19 cases, the highest so far since the pandemic started, even as 52 more persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, according to Health Department data on Thursday.

1685 of these case were confirmed from Jammu Division and 3241 from Kashmir, taking the total count to 201511.

Regarding the deaths 34 were from Jammu Division and 18 from Kashmir Valley, taking the fatality count to 2562—1068 in Jammu division and 1494 in Kashmir.

Providing district wise details, the officials told GNS that Srinagar reported 1070 cases, Baramulla 353, Budgam 605, Pulwama 171, Kupwara 124, Anantnag 314, Bandipora 90, Ganderbal 126, Kulgam 218, Shopian 170, Jammu 617, Udhampur 121, Rajouri 232, Doda 51, Kathua 200, Samba 131, Kishtwar 36, Poonch 124 Ramban 108 and Reasi 65.

Moreover, they said, 2836 more COVID-19 patients have recovered—1041 from Jammu and 1795 from Kashmir even as active positive cases raced to 41666—14686in Jammu and 26980 in Kashmir.
