Anantnag, Sep 30: In a significant move aimed at enhancing passenger convenience, the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counter has been successfully installed at Anantnag railway station, Railway officials said.
A top railway official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that this newly introduced facility empowers travellers to book their tickets directly from a mobile phone application and manage their travel plans with ease.
He said in the event of ticket cancellation, the refund will be credited directly to the passenger’s account, eliminating the need for physical contact with railway authorities.
This progressive step has been warmly welcome by the general public, as it not only streamlines the ticketing process but also promotes safety during challenging times.
The ticket booking services at Anantnag railway station are set to commence from Monday, fulfilling a long-pending demand, particularly from passengers hailing from South Kashmir districts.
Additionally, railway authorities said a similar passenger-friendly initiative by installing similar counters at other railway stations along the Baramulla-Banihal railway track will come up soon.
This expansion is expected to further facilitate the seamless travel experience for the commuters, they said—(KNO)
