Extension in summer vacation: Call to be taken in accordance with weather advisory: DSEK

Universities, Colleges Closed Till May 15, Market Associations Asked to Stagger Opening Timings

Srinagar, Jul 10: Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) Wednesday said it will take a call on extension of summer vacation in accordance with the weather advisory.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the director while speaking to the reporters during the sidelines of an event said, “We are observing the ground and weather conditions; we are also in contact with the MeT department. We will take a call on this in accordance with the weather advisory.”

DSEK said that the department was providing free education as per the Right to Education (RTE) Act. “No money is being charged from students or parents.”

On asking about the admission process, the director said that the admissions are being done on merit basis and catchment area.

About the miscellaneous charges, DSEK said, “We have recently conducted a meeting on this and all the related issues. FFRC has received many such complaints and we are analyzing it.”— (KNO)
