Pampore, Jul 17: A teenage boy from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district has turned entrepreneur by starting a tissue paper factory in Pampore, aiming to create job opportunities for the local youth.

Farzan Mohi Ud Din, 19, a resident of Drangbal in Pampore town, has established the Breeze Tissue factory in Frestabal, Pampore, where three people are currently employed.

Speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Farzan said he was initially running a stationery outlet in his locality alongside his studies. Later, the idea to start a tissue paper factory struck him.

After discussing this idea with his family, relatives, and friends, who all extended their support, he successfully set up the unit.

“My cousin first suggested that I should start this as there isn’t any such factory in the locality,” he said. “Following that, I visited outside J&K, procured the material with the support of my family, without taking any government support or loan.”

The young entrepreneur expressed his desire to balance schoolwork and business ambitions, and he plans to expand his business to create more job opportunities for the youth of J&K.

Farzan said he is planning to bring in two more machines for manufacturing disposable glasses, which will allow him to employ more youth. He aims to be a job provider, not a job seeker.

His company has already started receiving orders, offering a variety of tissue paper products, including printed, non-printed, hard, and soft tissues.

Starting this venture at a young age, Farzan said it has become difficult for educated youth to secure a government job. “My goal is to create employment opportunities,” he said.

He encouraged the youth to understand that not getting a government job isn’t the end of the world. “You can take advantage of government schemes, start small, and eventually achieve success in making their dreams come true,” he said—(KNO)
