NDA’s CP Radhakrishnan Wins Vice Presidential Election, Secures 452 Votes

New Delhi, Sep 9: Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, fielded by the ruling NDA, has been elected as the Vice President of India, defeating the opposition’s joint nominee Justice B. Sudershan Reddy.

According to Returning Officer P.C. Mody as per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Secretary-General of the Rajya Sabha, Radhakrishnan polled 452 first preference votes, while Reddy managed 300. The results were declared soon after the counting concluded on Tuesday evening.

The Vice Presidential poll was conducted earlier in the day, with members of both Houses of Parliament casting their votes. The NDA camp, which had a clear numerical advantage, secured a decisive win. (KNC)
