J&K Police Mourn Demise of Former IGP Mohammad Ashraf Bedar

Srinagar, Feb 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday expressed profound grief over the demise of former Inspector General of Police Mohammad Ashraf Bedar, describing him as a committed and visionary officer whose service left a lasting imprint on the force.

In an official condolence message, the police fraternity paid rich tributes to Bedar’s decades of dedicated service, acknowledging his leadership and significant role in strengthening policing and public safety mechanisms across the region. The department noted that his tenure was marked by professionalism, integrity and steadfast commitment to duty.

Senior officers and personnel across ranks conveyed their heartfelt condolences, recalling his guidance, administrative acumen and mentorship. Many remembered him as an officer who led from the front and remained accessible to his colleagues, earning respect within the ranks and among the public.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police extended sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and fortitude to help them endure the irreparable loss. Officials stated that Bedar’s legacy of service and discipline would continue to inspire future generations within the force.
