Qazigund, Apr 6: As part of a UT-wide plantation drive launched by Education Minister Sakeena Itoo, Government Degree College (GDC) Qazigund on Monday organised a plantation programme in its campus, with active participation of students and staff.

The initiative aimed to promote environmental awareness and contribute to a greener and healthier ecosystem. The campaign encouraged participants to take part in tree plantation and understand the importance of sustainable living.

Principal of the college, Prof Sudhir Singh, in his address urged students to play an active role in environmental protection. He said the plantation drive carries a strong message of spreading environmental consciousness and fostering responsibility towards nature. He also announced the formation of an Eco-Club in the college to carry forward such activities.
