J&K Bank records 12.22 crore transactions worth Rs 15,035 cr ahead of Eid

Hits 1.69 cr transactions in a day; over 95% banking done digitally; records highest-ever single-day performance on May 25, with nearly 1.69

Srinagar, May 26: Jammu & Kashmir Bank witnessed a surge in digital banking activity during the festive week leading up to Eid-ul-Azha, processing over 12,22,98,022 (12.22 crore) transactions worth Rs 15,035.86 crore between May 19 and May 26, 2026.

According to official data available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Bank recorded its highest-ever single-day performance on May 25, when customers carried out 1,69,49,767 (nearly 1.69 crore) transactions worth Rs 2,848.62 crore, marking a new benchmark in its digital banking history.

On the peak day, mPay Delight Plus handled 52.34 lakh transactions worth Rs 1,149.65 crore, while UPI (excluding mPay UPI) emerged as the leading channel with 1.11 crore transactions worth Rs 1,002.61 crore.

ATMs, debit cards, e-banking and kiosk banking together ensured uninterrupted services amid heavy festive demand.

Overall, more than 95 per cent of total transactions were executed digitally, reflecting a continued shift towards cashless and technology-driven banking in the region.
