Jammu, Sept 21: Lieutenant General Mohit Seth will take over as new General-Officer-Commanding (GOC) of strategically vital Jammu’s Nagrota based White Knight Corps.
He will replace Lt Gen P K Mishra on October 1 in a baton handing ceremony.
GOC Lt Gen P K Mishra will be moving to a new posting, officials said.
Lt Gen Mohit Seth has served in key command and staff appointments, including as the General-Officer-Commanding (GOC) of the Counter-Insurgency Force Kilo.
Presently, Lt Gen Mohit Seth, serving as Commandant, Indian Military Training Team (IMTRAT), Indian Army’s training establishment in Bhutan.
An alumnus of the National Defence Academy (NDA) and the National Defence college (NDC), Lt Gen Seth, was commissioned into the 3 Madras Regiment in 1991.
He has also served as Indian Army Liaison Officer, High Commission of India, United Kingdom.
The White Knight Corps covers the region south of the Pir Panjal range, extending from the Pir Panjal and Shivalik ranges to the plains of Jammu and Akhnoor.
It is responsible for guarding the International Border and the Line of Control (LoC), as well as conducting intensive counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in the Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, and erstwhile Doda districts. (UNI)
