9 Passengers Injured After 2 Vehicles Collide in Bijbehara Anantnag

Srinagar, Aug 04: At least nine passengers were injured after two vehicles collided along highway in Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

An official told GNS that two vehicles which included a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK21C 8406 and a Sumo bearing registration number JK16 0948 collided at Air Strip along Highway in Bijbehara this morning.

In the incident, nine persons suffered injuries, the official said, while identifying them as, Rumaisa, wife of Ishtiaq Ahmad Sheikh of Sonamarg, Abdul Qayoom Bairan son of Nazir Ahmed of Kangan, Azra daughter of Irshad Ahmad Sheikh of Kangan, Ishrat daughter of Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh of Kangan, Salreen wife of Nisar Ahmad Khan of Kangan, Ahkam son of Nisar Ahmad Khan of Kangan, Arhan son of Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan of Kangan, Imad son of Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan of Kangan and Usman son of Nisar Ahmad Khan of Kangan.

“All the injured were evacuated to SDH Bijbehara, from where they were taken to GMC Anantnag for further treatment,” the official said.

Confirming it, a police official told GNS that they have taken cognisance of the incident for further investigations. (GNS)
