Recovery rate over 74 percent in J&K

Srinagar, Aug 19: Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday witnessed another spurt in Covid positive cases as 708 fresh cases including 43 travelers were recorded in the Union Territory taking the total number of pandemic cases to over 30,000. Of the total 30,034 positive cases—23,386 are from Kashmir and 6,648 from Jammu division.
Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that among 708 new cases, 606 belong to Kashmir division while as 102 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 23,386 including 17,381 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 6,648 including 5,116 recoveries and 41 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,965 including 5,474 from Kashmir division and 1,491 from Jammu division. With 611 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 22,497 which is 74.90 percent of the total cases.
Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 7,253 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 6,648.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 229 from Srinagar, 35 from Baramulla, 24 from Pulwama, 88 from Budgam, 48 from Anantnag, 19 from Kulgam, 10 from Shopian, 43 from Kupwara, 48 from Bandipora and 62 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 102 from Jammu division include 41 from Jammu, 04 from Rajouri, 04 from Kuthua, 02 from Udhampur, 02 from Ramban, 10 from Samba, 03 from Doda, 01 from Poonch, 34 from Reasi and 01 from Kishtiwar”, officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 7,253 positive cases including 182 deaths and 5,659 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,510 including 89 deaths and 1,792 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,146 including 1,723 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Pulwama,1,922 including 1,349 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Budgam, 1,905 including 43 deaths and 1,477 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,747 including 1,500 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,589 cases including 1,458 and 26 deaths are from Shopian, 1,680 including 1,146 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,583 including 767 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Bandipora and 1,051 including 510 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Ganderbal.
In Jammu division, 2,074 including 1,359 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Jammu district, 794 including 703 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 681 including 573 recoveries and 01 death are from Kuthua, 664 including 602 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Udhampur, 631 including 601 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 599 including 424 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 350 including 300 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 333 including 255 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Poonch, 336 including 131 recoveries are from Reasi and 186 including 168 recoveries are from Kishtwar.
As per the daily information bulletin, 421,057 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 42,323 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6,965 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 326,780 persons have completed surveillance period and 44,417 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 822,574 samples are available.
Out of 822,574 the number of samples tested negative stands at 792,540 while 30,034 have been tested positive, among them 6,965 are active and 22,497 persons have recovered—(KNO)
