Srinagar, Aug 28: Two unidentified militants were killed in an ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and security in Kiloora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday, officials said.
A senior police official said that two unidentified militants have been killed in an exchange of fire between government forces and militants in Kiloora, Shopian while operation is on in the area. “Two militants have been killed whose identity is being ascertained,” the official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)
Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, army’s 44 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter. “Firing has stopped. Search operation is going on in,” the police officer said—(KNO)
