Shopian, Aug 28: Two more militants were killed in an ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Kiloora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday afternoon taking the toll of slain militants to four while the fifth one was captured alive.
A senior police official said that four militants have been killed in an exchange of fire between government forces and militants in Kiloora, Shopian besides that one has been arrested alive while a search operation is on in the area.
Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, army’s 44 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter—(KNO)
