Two Sgr residents among 11 die of COVID-19, toll crosses 700-mark in J&K

Srinagar, Aug 30: The death toll due to Novel Coronavirus in Jammu and Kashmir has crossed 700-mark as eleven more patients who were tested positive for COVID-19 died in the Union Territory on Sunday.

The toll of deaths due to the virus in the Union territory has reached 702, officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO)

An official said that 11 patients who died include a 70-year-old man from Batamallo Srinagar, a 40-year-old man from Gousia Colony Bemina, a 45-year-old woman from Tangmarg, a 62-year-old woman from Panzoo Tral, a 65-year-old woman from Mazhama Magam Budgam, a 70-year-old man from Nadihal Bandipora,  a 30-year-old man from Udhampur, a 57-year-old man from Drass, Kargil, a 55-year-old woman from Khour Pallanwalla, a 46-year-old woman from Chack Arnia and a 47-year-old woman from Prem Nagar Jammu.

An official from SMHS said that a patient from Batamallo who was admitted on 26 August, a patient from Bemina who was admitted on 26 August, a patient from Tangmarg who was admitted on 27 August, a patient from Panzoo Tral who was admitted with diabetes, hypertension and bilateral Pneumonia on 24 August and a patient from Mazhama Magam who was admitted on 21 August, died on Sunday.

An official from SKIMS JVC Bemina said that a patient from Nandihal Bandipora who was admitted on 17 August died on Saturday.

An official from SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Udhampur who was admitted in 23 August with chest infection and bilateral Pneumonia and a patient from Drass Kargil who was admitted on 26 August died on Saturday.

He said that recent samples of the patient from Udhampur were negative.

An official from GMC Jammu told KNO that a patient from Khour Pallanwalla and a patient from Chack Arnia Jammu died on Saturday night while a patient from Prem Nagar Jammu died on Sunday.

With 11 more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 702 including 639 from Kashmir division and 63 from Jammu division—(KNO)
