Srinagar, Dec 02: Dozens of aspiring Postgraduate (PG) students of Kashmir University (KU) on Wednesday said that the “lackadaisical attitude” of the establishment is all set to ruin their one academic year.
The students said that due to the lazy approach of the University, the backlog results of their previous semesters were not declared in which they had appeared last year.
The students of 2016 batch informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) it has been a more than a year since they had appeared in the backlog examination and the University has failed to declare their results.
One of the students Nahida (Name Changed) said, “In 4th semester, I had a backlog in one subject of which I re-appeared in the examinations in June-2019 last year but till date no official results have been.”
In a representation to government grievance cell Nahida had said, “Since my fourth semester backlog results was not declared even in October this year, I couldn’t upload my final graduation marks for PG admissions on time and in this regard I even visited KU and got my advance mark sheet wherein it was mentioned that I had qualified the graduation with a grade 6.9,” the aspirant said.
“After few days, KU considered all those hundreds of students who had not updated their graduation grades for selection lists, but came up with an arbitrary rule that only those aspirants will be considered whose result has been declared before 30th September,” it reads.
Officials at KU told KNO that the results will be declared in a weeks time and the students were given enough time to upload the marks.
“We checked the entrance points of the aspirant who had filed the complaint at government grievance cell and she was not qualifying the entrance,” the official said.
Another official at KU also said that the students were given enough time to update their marks of under graduation for the admissions of PG till November-30—(KNO)
