One person killed, 3 injured as vehicle falls into gorge in Doda

Jammu, July 27: One person was killed while three others were seriously injured when a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge in Doda District on Monday.

Official sources told GNS that a load carrier, Tata Mobile (HP38A -8893) skidded off the road and fell into 250 feet deep gorge at Dudwar Morh on Gowari-Neli Road in Gandoharea of the district.

SDPO Gandoh Nawaz Mohd Khanday said that four persons associated with Jio Telecom Company met with an accident in their Tata Mobile vehicle. They were on the way to a Tower site when the accident happened, he said.

“After getting information, I along with police team immediately rushed to the spot and along with locals shifted all injured persons to PHC Changa, where doctors declared one of them as brought dead,” said SDPO Gandoh Nawaz Mohd Khanday, adding that other seriously injured were shifted to GMC Doda for further treatment after first aid.

The deceased has been identified as Kareem Baksh (50) of Tipri, Patshala-Bonjwah, Kishtwar.
The injured have been identified as Mohd Mussa (Driver) and Mohd Ashraf, also residents of Tipri Patshala, Bonjwah and Bashir Ahmed of Loran Mandi Poonch.

Meanhile, Police registered a case (FIR No 49/2020 U/s 279/337/304-A IPC) at Police Station Gandoh and started further investigation, officials added.(GNS)
