FIR against Rs 68 lakh embezzlement in JK Bank branch Poonch

HC grants centre, J&K Govt time for response to PIL against interest on loans

Poonch, Aug 08: Police here in Poonch district have registered a formal case after embezzlement of over Rs 68 lakh rupees  came to fore in  Jammu and Kashmir bank  branch in this border district.

Police officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that manager of JK Bank from Bata Dhurian in Mendhar submitted a written application before police informing about embezzlement of over Rd 68 lakh rupees from the branch with one employee who was earlier posted in the branch suspected to be involved in it.

” Amount from many accounts of the branch is missing.” the officials said mentioning about the complaint lodged by manager of branch.

” We have received a complaint after which a case in IPC sections 409 and others have been registered in Gursai police station against one employee of bank,” SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral told KNO.

He said that investigation into the matter is going on—(KNO)
