Day 3: Body of Bandipora man who drowned in Wullar-Lake remain untraceable

Bandipora, Sep 04: The body of a 45-year-old man who drowned into Wullar-Lake in Zalwan area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district remained untraceable for the third consecutive day on Friday.

A senior police officer told news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a man identified as Hussain Ahmad Khatana Son of Makhna Khatana a resident of Tanghat Pathkoot slipped into Wullar-Lake when he was grazing sheep in Zulwan area of Bandipora.

He said rescue teams of police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Navy and local volunteers continued their search today to trace the drowned man.

“We have been searching for his body since the morning but have not been able to find the body till this evening while the rescue operation was also hampered by heavy rains today,” the officer said. However, efforts will continue to be made to find the body tomorrow, he said.

However, the family members of the man have alleged that they are not getting any help from the administration to find the body “It’s been three days now and we are not getting any help from the administration, they said—(KNO)
