Soldier killed, 2 others injured along LoC in Kupwara

Srinagar, Sep 5: An army soldier was killed and two others were injured as India and Pakistan troops traded fire along the Line of Control at Naugam sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Official sources here told GNS that the Pakistani army targeted army posts in Naugam sector in which one soldier identified as Bopender Singh was killed while Lance Naik Venkatesh and Sepoy Shajal were injured who were later shifted to army’s 92 Base hospital here. They said Indian army gave a “befitting” reply to ceasefire violation by the Pakistani army.

When contacted defence ministry spokesman Col Rajesh Kalia said that details were awaited. (GNS)
