IGP Kashmir reviews operational readiness in Handwara, stresses public-friendly policing and prompt response to emerging challenges

Handwara, Sep 20: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar-IPS, on Sunday visited Handwara and reviewed the prevailing security situation, counter-terrorism grid, law and order preparedness and overall operational readiness of the district.

IGP Kashmir was accompanied by DIG North Kashmir Range, Dr. Vinod Kumar-IPS.

During the visit, SSP Handwara Tahir Saleem Khan briefed the IGP on various security and operational aspects of the district, including ongoing counter-terrorism operations, intelligence inputs, area domination measures, security of vulnerable locations and crime scenario.

During the review, IGP Kashmir emphasized the need for strengthening a public-friendly approach in policing, improving crime disposal and devising effective strategies in accordance with field requirements.

He stressed the importance of maintaining operational preparedness and ensuring a prompt and effective response to emerging security and law and order challenges.

IGP Kashmir appreciated the commitment, dedication and professionalism of the police personnel deployed in challenging operational areas and exhorted all ranks to remain vigilant and continue discharging their duties with dedication to ensure safety and security of the public.(GNS)
